What is Stars for Christ?

Stars for Christ is a Christian project focused on the influencing of Chrisitianity on celebreties around the world. We send certain books to celebreties along with a personal letter in attempts to start a conversation or even just spark an interest in Christianity.

What do I need to participate?

You need money to pay for the book and postage. Really, there is not much more than that. The project was made so that it wouldn't end up being a fortune.

What book do I need?

Most people would say the Bible. Not that that is a bad idea at all, but that may seem a little pushy to these people. So, our choice is "The Shack" by Wm. Paul Young or any books by Max Lucado. Another good choice is "Answers in Genesis" by Ken Ham.

What's our goal?

Our goal is to witness to celebrities so that they impact their fans and on from there. If we reach out to casts of people (Our example: the Teen Wolf cast) and bands.

Why go for the whole cast?

Why throw one stone when you can trow many? If we go for the whole cast, there is a chance that one cast member will become Christian and talk to their friends on the set about it. For example (real people used; THIS IS NOT A REAL EVENT!):
Chris Hemsworth gets a book and a letter and decides to become a Christian. He acts with Tom Hiddleston and is a good friend of his. If he shares his faith with Tom, Tom might feel more at ease hearing it from him as a friend rather than just a third party.
That's not saying "this certain person won't hear it from you 'cause you're a fan", it's just saying that some actors might find it easier to hear it from someone they know and trust because they are less likely to judge.

What if I don't hear back from my celebrity?

No sweat. The one thing that we have to accept in this ministry is that some of our celebrities won't respond. And that's not surprising! Stars live a high-profile life and some times, they just want to be left alone. Also, think about how many fan letters they get every day. Eventually they get tired, so answering these letters is not a priority.

... And what do I do if they DO respond?

That is an interesting thing to ask... I've not yet gotten any responses. The plan, though, is to:
1: read the letter. Be sure you know how you're going to answer, especially because not all letters may come back positive.
2: If it is a possitive, write back. Answer their questions (if any) and say a few things in reply.
3: If it comes back negative, don't be sad, read the letter all the way through and, if called for, reply. If the letter says something like: "This is stupid, I can't believe you sent my this load of garbage. Go to Hell", LEAVE IT ALONE. This is not worth a reply, so don't waste your ink/lead/breath. If it says something like: "Why would you send me something like this? This is a fake religeon, God is evil and laughs in our face when we hav plans", reply! Tell them why you believe and stand up for your faith. It may seem scary, but on a scale of 1-10, they are not gonna bit you through the paper. The worst that can hapen is that they might decide agains Christianity. As sad as that is for us, it's okay. God always has a plan, let him work it into play.

Missions trips?

Ah, so you did notice the forum post. Yes, we encourage people to set up interviews with stars or try to meet them at comic con, ect. We would apreciate it if you told us where you are off to so we can hear about how it wnet, what the prices were, ect. Also, don't be afrais to post pictures of your adventures on the photo page.

Money...

Oh, yes. Money is going to be a thing we need for this. But don't worry, this is not us hitting you up for cash. We just want to know ideas for fund raisers. With the money we get, we will put it toward books, postage and missions trips. In due time, we may set up a paypal so donations can be made, but for now, we aim to work for the people around us and ear money that way.

What inspired Stars for Christ?

Stars for Christ was inspired by a speach I heard from my pastor saying "If you were to be put on trial for Christianity, would there be enough evidence to convict you?" and "when you pass one day, the devil should be rejoycing saying 'man, I thought they'd NEVER bite the dust!'" and "Some times even the smallest of dreams can make a big impact". Personally I want all of those things. Though I am not looking for world fame or glory, I'm not desiring to be the richest, smartest, most beautiful person on the face of the earth, I just want to make some kind of impact. Especially because I won't be the only one. If I get even just a few actors/bands/celebrities to become Christians, they inturn might become great witnesses to their fans and co-workers.
